Helter Skelter

Just finished it this morning. Wow. I just can't stop thinking about this book, the Manson Family Murders, all of it. I never knew that much about the whole case and I'm obsessed now. I've been looking up stuff online for the past two weeks while reading the book and I just have DH put one of the documentaries on his Blockbuster queue. Chat Icon

Anyone care to discuss this book? I know someone else just recently read it - maybe Daniela?

Re: Helter Skelter

I finished the book a few weeks ago and did the same thing. I was watching a lot of interviews on youtube etc. I don't know why this book facinated me so much. Everytime I thought about sharon tate and her family my heart broke. She was gorgeous. It is just so unfair that all those people who were minding their own buisness lost their lives so brutally.

OK - I feel better that I am not the only one obsessed after this book. Did not know there are interviews on youtube - maybe you shouldn't have told me that!!Chat Icon

I could not believe when they talked about murders that were to take place that never did - like when they were just going to randomly murder the guy in a car next to them at a stoplight but he drove away.

In doing my research online, I also saw that Sharon Tate's younger sister, who was 11 at the time of the murders, died back in 2000 of breast cancer - she was only 42. How sad.

Re: Helter Skelter

no you aren't alone with being so captivated by that book. I knew about her sister, she looked exactly like her too. Her mother was so inspirational because she changed a lot of things for the better when it comes to victims rights. She went to every single parole hearing and fought so hard to make sure they all stayed behind bars. Her surving sister has taken over in her mother and other sister's place. I feel so sorry for their father he lost his wife and 2 daughters too early. So sad.
