Question for the newlyweds....
Hi Newlyweds. Congrats to you all! I am an 05 bride with a question since it has been a while. I have to plan my DD's Christening and I was wondering what the prices are these days at the Catering Halls. On average, what is the cost per plate for a Sunday? Thanks. I want to get an idea of what we are looking at. (And yes, DH's family throw huge Christening parties, like a weddings!)

Re: Question for the newlyweds....
I just got married in January at Fox Hollow and we paid $69pp for a Sat night. So, I'm assuming it would probably be much cheaper than that considering it's a christening and on a sunday.
Congrats!

Re: Question for the newlyweds....
I'm sure you remember from planning your wedding, it totally depends on day or night, and what time of the year. What area would you be looking in?

I would like to say Sunset Harbour was AMAZING!! We used them for my Grandparents 50th Anniversary last week. The food was great! The service was FANTASTIC!!!

Sometime between september and november. And we would prefer North shore Nassau county. Thanks

Re: Question for the newlyweds....
depends on whether you are looking for a catering hall or a nice restaurant
halls can be anywhere from 65-200pp
i would go with a nice restaurant for a christening party you can find great places for 35-60 pp
Congrats!

Re: Question for the newlyweds....
As you know it really does depend -- I would start making calls.
Also because when they hear wedding the price automatically goes up -- when they hear Christening it is different.
My girlfriend used Leanords for her DD Christening. What about Westbury Manor -- they have pretty rooms and were reasonibly priced when I looked there.

Re: Question for the newlyweds....
I would estimate around anywhere from 50-85 pp depending upon where you have it. some places though may be much much more than that..

I would agree with the previous posters that it starts around $65 at most catering halls. DH and I are going to a family christening at Westbury Manor in June and it will more than likely be a small wedding!!

We are trying to avoid what could become a small wedding! But DH's Sicilian family always have huge Christenings and Communions, and everything! We could be 100-120 people! We really don't want to have a huge thing but if we had to I was curios what the going rate is these days. We are going over the guest list this weekend to see what we are actually dealing with. Keep the prices coming! I appreciate it!
