Therapy Recommendations
I am having a tough time with my family. I am thinking about beginning to see a therapist because it is beginning to effect the way I am handling simple situations. My husband is extremely supportive and has actually offered to come if I want him to. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I have never been to a therapist before and wouldn't know where to start.
BTW I have GHI medical insurance and I live in Nassau.
I would appreciate any info you could offer

Re: Therapy Recommendations
i have a goood therapist in Queens I am not sure what she takes tho..
The best way to start is to go into ur insurance book and start calling pple...alot of times they wont take new patients or even call u back..then u get lucky and some r awesome and will see u right away, at the beginning it can be annoying to find the right therapist but once u do its totally worth it...
i actually saw two therapists and two psychs and after a few times of seeing each of them i decided who was the best fit for me and dropped the others..
goodluck

Re: Therapy Recommendations
I have one in Massapequa but she doesn't take insurance.
You may be able to go out of network? That's what I do. I submit it to my insurance company and they cover 70%.
