Craft Shows?
Where do you find ones looking for vendors? Also, do you typically need to be an actual licensed business to be a vendor at a craft show?

Not sure about licensing but try the oysterfest in Oyster Bay.

Re: Craft Shows?
I have done outdoor art shows in the Hamptons...found out about them thru the town's Chamber of Commerce usually...most require you to have a valid NYS Resale ID#...
Here's a link to one in Hampton Bays...(not sure where you are)..alot of times they don't fill up so you can still get a last minute spot. HTH!

Re: Craft Shows?
you dont need to be licensed at all . Only food items have certain restrictions. My Yankee trader or pennysaver lists a whole list once a week of places looking for vendors. Sometimes Newsday does too. Or you can look online , takes some work to find them all.

Re: Craft Shows?
Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Levittown has a big craft fair every fall. I think they have a Christmas in July also.

Re: Craft Shows?
Thanks everyone! I'll look into them all.
I found one right around the corner from me, but the fee is $350! I don't think I'll recoup much of that selling hairbows

Re: Craft Shows?
There are some that are only $20-$50 for a table. I found them on craigslist and it was a great way for me to find out which ones I might want to shop at. You may want to ask how many people they usually get. There can be big differences. There is a really good book that a lot of craft vendors consider to be their bible. It's a guide to doing this. It is on Amazon but I don't remember the name of it. The one in Long Beach every summer looks like a goldmine to me!!!!!!! There is one in Nesconset that I love, too.

Re: Craft Shows?
Try showtiques.com but let me warn you that some shows are better than others....go for the ones that are street fairs (massapequa park at the end of the summer and West Hempstead in the fall)...a number of their "fairs" are in train station parking lots and they don't draw huge crowds...
You can also call the "Chamber of Commerce" for towns near you to see when they have fairs (usually in the fall)....
...that's how i started....good luck!
