diapers at night!

ok so i have another question.....my DS has been potty trained for almost 2 years now. i still put an overnight on him at night. sometimes he wakes up dry and sometimes he wakes up wet. when should i start not putting it on him. when i ask the teachers they say not to worry about it now but he's going to be 6 and i think he goes in the diaper bc he knows he can. so should i start not putting on him? help!!!????

I would keep track of how many days he wakes up dry and then judge whether or not to try in the undies. I'm not sure if they make them in the larger size or not, but maybe you can start the transition with the thicker cotton transition pants so he gets the feel for wearing cotton undies at night and see how he does before switching to regular undies. HTH. Good luck.

Re: diapers at night!

we had this with my son. knew he was capable. but lazy about it overnight. one day we decided that was it. no more... and we had any number of accidents at night. but he did get it. took a couple of weeks on and off accidents, but they stopped. and he was 4 when he was potty trained for pee... 5 for poop, and around 5 as well for night time. get some of the pads you can put on the bed that absorb liquid. put several of them under his sheets and a couple over the sheets. this way if he does have an accident, you won't spend all your time trying ot change his bed in the middle of the night. just stip off one pad and have the next one ready to go. it saves alot of time at 3am.

Re: diapers at night!

we had dispoable ones that we ordered on line to start with. same type that they use in hospitals. like 2x2 feet or so. can buy them in packs of 50 or 100.

then i found some that are basically the same idea, but washable. i think i got them at bed bath and beyond. the baby stores might also have them.

they're bluck backed, and white padded top. so they absorb liquid, but it won't leak through the backing material. again, not huge, but a coupleo f them laid over one another guarantees the sheets stay dry. LOL

i got them well over a year ago, so the memory is a bit fuzzy. and i am blanking on the name of the disposable version. most of the durable medical goods type places should have them.

this is similar to what i am talking about.
