NYC teachers and Jury Duty
If you get called, do those days come out of your car or do you get docked?

Nope, as long as you show proof you are fine. Also, if you get on a trial let's say and they pay you a small fee each day for missing work you need to give that to the BOE in order to get your full pay. Your payroll sec. should be able to help you more!

I had jury duty just last year.
No you don't get to keep any $ from serving jury duty.
However you don't get docked from your work paycheck and the day doesn't come out of your CAR either.... it's like a free day off from work.

Okay...not bad. I got summoned but it's for next month and it falls smack between my DH's b-day, our anniversary and family coming from both sides, and working summer camp, so I postponed it for November. I just didn't want to lose days from my CAR OR lose money.

They are N/A days. You don't get docked but you definitely don't get the 40 bucks! I actually heard Bloomberg is trying to have teachers serve on juries only during July and August. That could be angry teacher rumor though.
