Christopher uses PECS and has been VERY successful and picked up on it right away.

His therapists at his school set up a book for him. She put a lot of PECS in there initially and I let her know the pics I need as we go and she makes them, they have a program at the school.

Totally crashing your board, but I am a Special Ed. teacher and am also PECS trained and would totally recommend the 2-day PECS course that Pyramid offers. It was very helpful to me when learning to implement PECS and there were quite a few parents there as well. If you ever need to make your own symbols to implement, you can download Boardmaker for a month free as well.

Sophie, the 2 day training is worth going to if you are going to do this. The training manual is great, but would be better as a review more than learning from. Its important to know everything about pecs because you may need to actually train your teams on it, rather than the other way around!

There used to be a training video...obviously not in depth as the 2 day training though. I don't know if they still sell it though.
