Need ideas/also venting

I got my program yesterday. Until 2 years ago, I taught ELA to two different groups (three periods with one, two with the other). It was a good arrangement.

Last year, though, I had a third class for one period a day. They had a regular teacher for ELA and I was the AIS teacher (academic intervention services).

I was miserable last year with this extra class- adjusting to the third group was tough after 10+ years of two groups.

We do not do AIS the way it's supposed to be done so I can do what I want, which is the only bright spot. However, I need some ELA related ideas. I want to have as much done as possible before I go back.

I'm so annoyed- my principal promised me that I would not have this third class this year but I want to make the best of it.

firstly- I'm a bit confused about what your day is like now that you have this 3rd group. What is your schedule like and how does this group affect what you used to have?

Secondly- what grades and more importantly what levels are these students at?
