Finding a mate to breed...

I am asking for my M-I-L, does anyone know a website to find a purebred to mate with your dog? They have a male Rottie and want to breed him. Thanks all !

I don't want to sound harsh, but Why would she want to create other puppies when shelters are killing dogs and cats each day because they need the room??

Does she want to make money by selling the pups?? THe pups that are created can have a lot of health problems. Unless she is a professional breeder(probably not because she is looking for a female to mate with her male) she should not be doing this. She sounds like a Backyard Breeder.

Her dog should be fixed. Does she know that unfixed dogs can develop cancer? Why would she want to put her beloved rottie through that?? If you need places that offer free or low cost neutering, let me know.

Here are some articles about neutering and why you should not be a breed a dog.
Spay and neuter your pet. Millions are dying in shelters because people want to breed and make puppies for cash.
Again, I don't want to sound harsh.
Please take the above info into consideration.

That was a little harsh. She didn't ask for a lecture ya know....she asked for a mate....

I respect that you have certain views on the subject, but not everyone shares your opinions.....

Re: Finding a mate to breed...

one word: NUETER!

please dont breed him. that would be backyardbreeding. please leave the breeding to the REGISTERED breeders who breed according to health standards and for the correct purposes.
i know you love your dog but please please please DO NOT 'breed' him. there is ALOT that goes into breeding. do a search. just because you love him and think he is great does NOT mean he is up to breed standard.

(i know ppl will say i sounds hypocritical cuz my dog had babies but a)it was an accident and b)my male was in the vets office asap getting fixed.)

Re: Finding a mate to breed...

First off I stated that this was a post for my M-I-L, not me. She is an animal lover and takes in stray's all the time, she mated her 2 Rotteweilers and kept all the puppy's! She has one last male - that is not nuetered and would like to stud him with a registered breeded. She isn't doing it for the money - she doesn't even want to exchange $$, she wants pick of the litter.

Nevermind though, I will talk to her about what I feel and I will also express all your concerns to her.

Thanks to all !
