I'm gonna scream...
It is absolutely AMAZING to me what they can get away with making teachers do here in NC...
First of all, we have no union. That's probably the biggest problem.
I was just transferred to another elementary school within my district. We got a letter from the principal, basically debriefing us on the start of the year.
She gave us a list of important dates to put on our calendars. I went to make note of the fact that our Open House day is 3-5 on August 23rd...
...that's when I realized that August 23rd is a Sunday. A SUNDAY!!
I emailed my new principal, thinking that she had made a mistake for sure. Nope, she meant to schedule it on a Sunday.
I am absolutely LIVID. She could have scheduled it during/after any one of our 5 teacher workdays...but she is choosing to have every member of her staff give up one of THEIR weekend days to come in for HER open house.
This lady's got b a l l s.

I am so sick of being treated like a 2nd class citizen around here. I think I'd be better off finding a job at Starbucks...

This is so funny, I've been saying the same thing all year. I work at a private school and we are treated like indentured servants and with all the hours we put in I think my salary comes out to be a little above minimum wage.
