What happens if you don't ovulate?
My first two months off the pill and charting I had cycles of 34 and 31 days. I'm now at day 41 and still no sign of ovulation. I'm not totally surprised because we got a puppy 5 weeks ago and my sleeping habits have been off and stress levels higher. I'm a little worried because my LP was only 8-9 days both times before and between this and that, I'm thinking maybe I have a hormone defect, but I haven't been to the doc. After all that, my question is, if you have an anovulatory cycle, when does your body reset itself and start over? If I expected to ovulate at 22-25 days, should I tack on another 21-25 days and that should be right? Or is there no way to tell what your body is doing at that point? TIA!

I think you should make an appointment with your gyn and let him or her know that you haven't ovulated. They should take blood tests to evaluate your levels and should be able to determine why your cycles are so long. Sometimes they give you a pill called provera to bring on AF. I hope this helps.

after a while of not ovulating, I went to the doctor and they were able to help me do something about it.

Re: What happens if you don't ovulate?
Thanks ladies. I guess I'm off to the doctor. Did you see side effects to what you were taking to bring on ovulation?

Re: What happens if you don't ovulate?
Most likely you will be given provera..and the side effects are very similar to pregnancy symptoms. You may feel bloated, irritable, moody, tender breasts, high temps...etc..
