who to see for a recurrent bad back
right now I cannot even functionI am in such bad pain....do I make an appointment to see my reg doc or a chiropractor? TIA

i would see your regular doc first and see what route he'd like you to go with...
he could refer you to a physical therapist, a chiro, etc...

Go to an ortho first and then consider a chiro once you know what is causing the pain.

i would see a chiropractor first, start with the least invasive/conservative care....

Orthopedist. You need xrays/mri to know what you are dealing with FIRST.
Then you can decide what to do.
But nobody should "touch" you unless they know what is going on. It could be a spine issue (herniated disc, bulging disc) or it could be just muscular.

a chiropractor can take xrays and refer you for an mri if needed also.....
most orthopedists are orthopedic surgeons and are quick to give Rx pain meds and then say surgery is needed.....
