Teachers Aide
Anyone know about what there salary is in Nassau? I was offered a position that would be convenient and good for extra money, but I didn't take it. Now I am thinking that I should have.

Re: Teachers Aide
aide? or assisstant?
you will have to ask. each district is so different. I worked as a Teaching Assisstant in 2 different schools.
one school in RVC starting was 18,000 with NO benefits oh and 30 min lunch
second school in Island Park, small district, starting was something like 26,000 with full benefit and with lots of opportunity to participate in clubs for extra money (something like over $40 and hour) and 1 hour lunch
they are all so different

Re: Teachers Aide
I think she said aide. Do assistants make more? I am a teacher and I only want to work pt. I will be working part of my day as a teacher, but the offered another 20 hrs as a TA. I am on the fence about taking the other work and figure by now they might have hired someone else. I was just wondering if there is any way itcould be worthwhile.
Thanks

Re: Teachers Aide
I worked as an aide at Nassau BOCES beofre I became a teacher. It paid $82/day. More if you had a BA or MA...also increased w/ amount of time in the district.
