i completely agree too! when i first read twilight, i think i re-read all 4 books at least 4 or 5 times each, within the first month of borrowing them (thanks lb!) and with harry potter, my husband even more than i, reads them over and over. he actually just read book 7 over our vacation last week and started it again b/c he couldn't get enough!

I love them too. I'm starting Eclipse today. Even though it takes me longer to read them, I can't put them down.

Re: Twilight
lol I didn't want to read it either, but I did out of curiousity. I love her writing style and the books. But I was surprised at how victorian the literature was, it was pretty cool

Re: Twilight
I started reading the series because 4 of the girls in my 5th grade class were reading it, and I was curious.
I TOTALLY got sucked in.
I have read the first 3, and have been avoiding Breaking Dawn because I don't want to pay the hardcover price but I might cave pretty soon, I'm going through withdrawal!

Re: Twilight
I just saw New Moon last night and OMG. I started crying cause if you read the books you know how much Edward loves Bella and when he left her, I could hold back. I was like a little kid who just got their favorite Teddy bear taken away.

Re: Twilight
I feel like such a freak when I read these posts.
I moderately enjoyed the first book - quick read, easy to digest and light. Not the best writing in the world - completely lacking in subtlety and devoid of any real substance.. but good fluff to keep you turning the pages.
By the 2nd book the charm was gone. Bella is unlikeable for me. She is clingy, whiny and the ultimate victim. Edward is an obsessive stalker. Their entire 'love' (to me) is completely superficial. My girlfriend said it best: She loves him because he's 'beautiful' and he loves her because she smells like a hamburger.
I forced myself to finish the 2nd book and cracked the binding on the 3rd but just couldn't bring myself to keep reading. I didn't even bother borrowing the 4th.
It reminds me of when the Police had that song out "Every Breath You Take" and everyone thought it was this beautiful love song and I was all alone thinking that I'd be creeped out if anyone ever dedicated it to me.
I dunno.. I think the story had potential.. but it kind of failed. I almost feel like the first part of the first book was good.. and then Meyer figured out she had this cash cow and just started writing to make money instead of tell an impactful story.
But.. I guess I'm alone on this one!!

Nope I'm with you on some of this. I am not a fan of how the author's writing style either. I also find Bella to be completely needy and annoying. I never thought of Edward as an obsessive stalker but now that you mentioned it...sounds about right (but in a hot guy I could only wish would stalk me kind of way LOL)
However, I'm totally captivated by the story and just started Breaking Dawn last night. I never feed into the hype of books but my SD is into it. She received a few Twilight games for christmas and had nobody to play with so I agreed to read the books. Now I'm hooked!

Re: Twilight
I never saw the movie or read the book until a couple of weeks ago. I'm sorry I didnt hop on the Twilight bandwagon sooner.
I read the first book over the past 2 days and ran and got "New Moon" today. I can't wait for the new movie to come out in June.
I never thought I would be into this story line of vampires...but I actually find the love story addicting and Edward Cullen
