Tutorial: How to install fonts
Stole this from a messageboard because I'm far too lazy to type thi sall out. I just started using Font Xplorer because my PC's performance was dying with all my fonts installed.
======= Save all the zip files to a Fonts folder you create in My Files, or on your drive. This keeps them all together, and if you ever reinstall Windows, you don't want all your fonts in the Windows Font folder because they'll be deleted when you remove Windows.
If you have a Font Manager, use it to view and install fonts. Check out the tutorial here on The Font Thing, it has a link to download it. Uninstall the fonts occasionally to keep your load time under control, leaving only your favorites. No reason to leave one installed that you rarely use, and opening your manager while scrapping familiarizes you with what you have, what you lack, and encourages using new and varied fonts rather than the old "stand-by" fonts installed when you don't open your manager.
If you don't use a manager, installing fonts is still easy. Save them to a separate folder still, then open the Windows Font folder in Start>Settings>Control Panel>Fonts (right click and choose Open), then File>Install and browse to your personal Fonts folder to install them. Again, uninstall things periodically.
