Need help

Can anybody help me decide what to do? Right now I am health and phys. ed. certified and a certified athletic trainer. Obviously I can't find a job in health or phys ed right now, so I am the athletic trainer at a high school and a teacher assistant.

After being a TA last year, I came to find out that I LOVE working with special ed, especially self contained, so I was thinking of maybe getting my transcripts evaluated by Boces for that... I did my internship at a deaf school and I loved working with them also...

Since I need to do something, since I can't find a job, do you think special ed or maybe ASL certified would be good?
Which one would be more beneficial to have? If I do special ed, would it be better to get a second masters in that or just get certified? I know special ed would be better to have and that's what I will prolly do, but I'm just so confused Chat Icon Right now, I work 3 jobs and I just want one lol Thank you for listening to me vent!!!

I wouldn't get a 2nd masters. It would be a lot of $$ and wouldn;t be any more beneficial than just getting certified.

See what you need for that certification. To my knowledge there are oftern special ed jobs around.

Good luck Chat Icon

You should look into getting certified as a personal tainer. This is what my sister did. She has a phys ed degree but couldnt find a job. She started working in a gym but then decided to look into getting her own clients. She created a wesite and looked into started a buisness. She now has her own clients that she trains with and she does a boot camp outside early in the morning..just an idea Chat Icon

i agree... you already took some of the required courses to get certified in phys. ed. however, it will still be a lot of courses to go form phys. ed. to special ed. but probably a little less than a full Masters.

Special ed. jobs are probably most in demand, but i think EVERYONE is having a hard time finding anything right now, regardless of their certification.
