Hey!
Sorry, I'm just seeing this now.
Sunday went ok. There was really good parent turnout, which was nice. But it would have been VERY nice if they would have turned on the a/c  I know, most schools on LI don't have a/c, but here we need it because it gets HOT. It was so hot that all the parents were complaining. I don't know what she was thinking with that one...
So far, the year is off to a good start. My biggest complaint: Aside with having to eat lunch with our kids in the cafeteria, she has now taken away our prep periods. We get one 40-min. prep a day, and she is REQUIRING that we meet with the other teachers on our grade level. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. So that translates to absolutely NO downtime. We take our kids out to recess, too.
So, if you've managed to land yourself a teaching position on LI, you should get down on your knees and be very thankful, I had no idea that this is how teachers are treated in other states!
