Michael's in Lake Grove

SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sooooo pizzed!! They are discontinuing some stuff I want. I saw it on the clearance rack earlier this week, but waited until today to buy so I could use a 50% off coupon that is valid today & tomorrow only.

So I get there, and the entire clearance section (shelves and all) is taken down. I go to the register to see what's up and the girl pages someone who says . . . get this . . . the section was taken down to make room for the CHRISTMAS STUFF!!! Are you kidding me????????????? School hasn't opened yet, Halloween is practically two months away, and they're getting ready to put out Christmas stuff????

So, I tell the girl I want to buy this specific item I know they have b/c I saw it two days ago. She pages the store manager, who doesn't respond. Instead some guy comes up to the register, and I explain the situation, and he tells me he can't sell me the item, all the clearance stuff is upstairs and unorganized, and it will stay there until after Christmas!!
*****?????????????????? I cannot believe that Michaels actually refused to sell me an item.

I got the store manager's name, the district manager's name, and a number to call, and filed an oral complaint as I left the parking lot. I am sooooo pizzed!!!!!!!!!!

i've noticed that michaels has orders given to them from corporate... which means that the people in the actual store don't think.

I hear you...I went in looking for pretzel mold kits (I figured it would be cheaper than buying individual bags of candy melt). They didn't have the kit, just two molds that they sell individually (meaning no candy), so I bought those, but I noticed that (as of the THIRD WEEK OF AUGUST) they had Halloween AND Christmas stuff out. I know they sell Halloween molds kits, so I searched for it, figuring that I could use the candy that comes with it, but couldn't find it. I went up to the counter and this was the conversation:

ME: I'm looking for the Halloween Pretzel mold kit

Employee: the what?

Me: Halloween mold kit. I can't find it in the Halloween section.

Employee: Oh, the Halloween baking stuff isn't out yet

ME: but you have CHRISTMAS stuff out

Employee: sorry

End of conversation

That store drives me nuts! Why not put out ALL of one holiday before putting out another?????

I don't shop at Michaels too often, most of the people that work there couldn't find there way out of a paper bag with a flash light and a compass.

I agree, it's crazy that Christmas decorations are out now..but the Christmas craft stuff is out on time. I have a friend who makes ornaments and sells them at craft fairs, etc. and she has to get going now in time to sell.
