Where To Go for In-Service Credits?
I was wondering if you guys know websites or where I can start registering for those in-service credits so that I can move higher on the pay scale? I completed my masters, but I have no idea where to get inservice credits. TIA!

Re: Where To Go for In-Service Credits?
I've taken them through Dellecave (online) and MESTRACT. Just a word of caution though...some districts have issues with accepting Dellecave credits, so make sure you get it pre approved from your district. My previous district had no problem with Dellecave, but when I came to my current district, they would not accept ANY Dellecave credits that I'd already completed, so I dropped back down to Masters instead of Masters + 30 like I was in my old district.

Just a word of caution- many districts won't accept inservice courses completed when you worked for another district

Yup.......I was told that exactly!!!! I wish I had known that before I switched! I purposely did more inservice than graduate because it was cheaper, and it sure came back to kick me in the butt!

New York Center for Teacher Development. www.NYCTD.org
I took 3 classes this summer online and they were great. Pretty easy and not too expensive. A 3 credit class is $270. I got 9 credits done this summer and it was great!

Re: Where To Go for In-Service Credits?
Check with your district to see what is allowed.
I took about 12 credits from the University of LaVerne. You sign up on line and they send you some books and a packet of questions and a short paper (4 pages) to write. You have a yr to send it back and get a "grade" and a transcript to submit. They are doable as a weekend project. Some of the courses in my subject area where interedting, too.
My district also offers classes through the Teacher's Center.

Re: Where To Go for In-Service Credits?
I was also told that my current district has not allowed anyone to take Dellecave courses in about 10 years, so even if they did count inservice from other districts, they STILL wouldn't have counted!!!!
Bottom lineJust make sure you check with your district first about what they allow!
