"Change your Style" Challenge
After reading, and responding to, Ang's post about changing one's style, working with embellishments, etc. I decided to re-post my comments here, as a challenge to all.
I've found that doing challenges has helped me expand my range by using new elements, color combos, techniques, etc. and my style has changed some too.
So the challenge is to pick something from the list below and just try it - then post your results with some comments about what you learned, or how it made you grow in your style. Don't feel that you have to do full 12x12 or 8.5 x 11 pages - consider smaller 8x8 or even cards to test out ideas.
Feel free to post more ideas for the list too - I'll copy them to the master list.
** Use 3 patterned papers in a LO or card
**Pick one monochrome color theme for your card or LO
**Use 3 different embellishements of your choice on a LO or card.
**Use eyelets, brads and ribbon on one LO or card
**Use distress ink techniques
**Combine 3 types of text - could be font styles, rub ons, stamps, die cut letters, etc.
**Journal in a format you don't normally use - bullet point list, strips of words, all in one text box, or several scattered text boxes, etc.
**Pick an element in a LO you like from a magazine, and incorporate it into yours - could be the composition/format of pics, use of color, use of embellishments, etc. - tell us what you liked and how you used it in your own way.
**Do a LO without photos
**Do a LO with one large photo
**Do a LO with several small photos

Re: "Change your Style" Challenge
I think we could make it an ongoing challenge and keep posting things as they're completed, with new ideas being added. Lets get some fun pics going. I'll try to find a few examples of my work that fit some of these.
I didn't put anything down yet about altered objects, ie: journals, storage boxes, clip boards, but those can be fun too, and they can get you working outside of your comfort zone.
