My Birth Story
I wanted to share my birth story with all of you lovely ladies.
September 21st I went to work but felt pressure all day long. After speaking with my mom all day she said to me that I was having this baby really soon. Now I didnt believe her because every week that I had gone to the doctor since 36 weeks I had no progression what so ever. My due date was September 26th. I figured I wasnt going early at all.
That night I went home still feeling pressure and now starting to feel sick. I tried to put it put it out of my head and DH and I starting taking things out boxes and setting up last minute things. DH tried to get me to eat dinner but just couldnt eat. It is so unusual for me not to eat any meal. Then as the night went on I started to get contractions but very far apart. I had talked to my mom that night and she said call in to work, you are having this baby tomorrow. I really didnt think that this was the case. I woke up every hour from a contraction.
September 22nd at about 5:30 am I was having contractions now closer together about 10-15 minutes apart. DH called the dr's office and we got an appt at 10:30am for a check. When I went in I was 2-3 cm dilated and the doctor wanted to put me on a fetal monitor to see if the baby was ok. This is where I got really sick in the doctor's office and vomited all over the place. It was bad.
The doctor took me off the monitor and and sent me home and said call me when your contractions are 3-5 minutes apart. I got home and showered. Not even an hour later my contractions were 3-5 minutes apart. So DH and I were off to the hospital at 1:40pm and we finally got to the hospital at 2:15pm. They put me in a wheelchair and I was off to the labor and delivery room.
They rechecked me to see how dilated I was and I was about 4 cm. Now this is where I am begging for drugs LOL!! The doctor came in and said that they dont give demerol because it passes to the baby and he would get me the epidural. I said ok and now this is not what I really wanted but with the pain I was all for it. So they took my blood and I had to wait for the blood work before I could get the epidural.
My mom had gotten to the hospital and had come in to support me with DH. About a half hour later I just had this feeling like I needed to push. The nurse checked me and I was fully dilated. There was not time for drugs. I had pushed about 3-5 times and our boy had arrivedat 3:56pm.
What an amazing feeling to have this miracle finally arrive. What a joy!!
I totally didnt expect to not have any pain meds. Everything just happened so quickly that it just wasnt a possibility. I would definitely do this all over again.
Pics of our little boy are in my album. Summerlyn had come and taken pics, which she did an amazing job!!!
