anyone ever make candles?
I am attempting to make candles for a shower...but i've never done it before. I bought some wax chips, color, scent and wicks from AC Moore....but I'm a little nervous about getting started. Any tips?

Hi!
I make candles as a side business. Did you get a metal pitcher to melt your wax in? If not, you can use an old metal coffee container. When you melt your wax, you can do it over a bunsun (sp) burner or a double boiler pot. Make sure that the wax never goes above 180 degrees (you can use a candy thermometer), or it may catch on fire. When it hits 175, add your scent (make sure you add enough, because if you add too little, the candle may smell nice before you burn it, but not while.), and then your color.
Then pour it into the mold, wait for a 'skin' to form over the top, and then center your wicks. Let it harden overnight.
Good luck!!

I have never worked with that before- I do the traditional wax.
