Can I vent? NPR I'm sure it will be long lol

I feel safe on this board, so I just kinda wanted to get this out, so I don't take it out on DH .

I hate his family! By no means are these nice, friendly people, how even act as if DH exists or DS exists.

Do they call DH for his birthday? No! But GOD forbid DH doesn't call MIL on her bday and send a card and gift, all H*LL breaks loose! When DH called to wish her a happy bday after he got home from work, she doesn't answer but he left her a nice message, he gets a text saying "yeah yeah, I'm out" .. haha .. THEN his AUNT sent me like 100 text messages saying how we have to try harder etc etc and I was nice and said your right blah blah blah... Well today she sends me another 10 texts about how we make MIL feel bad or w/e, and I FLIPPED out. Told her that MIL gets what she deserves, and that I would never want to be the mother she is etc etc. Flips out on me, and tells me she won't talk to me .. WELL GOOD!

More background MIL hasn't seen DS since April ((etc for his baptism in sept. that she left after 20 min)), she lives an hour away, this is her first grandchild, and only up until a couple weeks ago. MIL got into a huge fight because we couldn't come down to her house to clean out DH things out of her basement because we were going through alot ((my brother was diagnosed with cancer, and I had a miscarriage)) and she called me immature, and got SIL talking cr*p about me on myspace ... Then at my sons baptism ((my grandma passed about 6 days before that)) she laughed about my grandma dieing to my mother ((she thought it was my dads mother)), I had to rush my mom out of there because I saw her eyes swelling up. Spoke to her on tuesday where she tells me that she can't stand having old parents, and that I should know since my parents are old ((hello! there 2 years older than you you hag!)) and I looooove my parents and put her in her place, that she hung up on me lol..

Good for you sticking up for yourself. DHs dads family sounds like this lady. We always hear it when DH doesn't call on holidays....who's the kid here?

God..she sounds awful!

I'm so sorry you have to deal with them. My in-laws aren't the greatest in the bunch either! Good for you standing your ground. MIL and DH's aunt have no right to talk to you like that!

I am so sorry you have to deal with them. I am proud you held your ground and stood up for yourself. My in laws are not so great and I can totally relate. Be strong. Hugs

Big question...what does DH think? Does he agree with you? does he stand up to his mother? because all that matters is that you two are on the same page.

Stinks to deal w/ that! She can't treat you guys like that...and then expect you to be there for her things...boo!

Thanks girls!!! My DH is happy I stood up for myself too, and he said that he would talk to them for me tomorrow, because he didn't like me getting so upset over it.

so at least he knows they are crazy too...it would suck if he stuck up for them. I'm glad hes going to call and stick up for you cause you are his wife and he should...at least you don't have to speak to them often.

I'm sorry you have to deal with a MIL like that! I'm glad your husband is going to talk to her. Also, I would of told her off too, you got to stand up for yourself!
