I am so sorry! I don't think people understand or ever will unless they live it day bay day.

I see my beautiful boy and regularly cry. He does not talk. He does not tell me he loves me like other toddlers tell their mommy. He only kisses me because he knows I love kisses and it's "just something you do" when you see mommy or he will kiss me to get something. It's not from emotions.

I can't generalize but I don't think mommies of typical children realize how "lucky" they are to experience a typical child and their normal development.

As you may or may not know, Im a mommy to a little girl with Down Syndrome and just found out about a month ago, I'm a mommy to a little boy with P.D.D who starts his ABA classes on Monday.

Is it upsetting? Yes.
Hard? Yes.

ITA with Sophie. DS is going to be 3 and his vocab is that of maybe a 24 month old. We go on playdates and his friends are talking full sentences and DS is labeling.

But, ya know what? I wouldn't change a thing! Im not going to lie. I do get a bit jealous here and there.
Im going to be positive that with all the hard work of DH, Family, Therapists, and myself, both kids will come along and do pretty good for themselves in the future!

I know I'm on the outside looking in but I work very closely on a daily basis with parents and have been there for the tears, the joys, nd everything in between. It is my love for my families that always pushes me to be the best I can be in this field For everyone in this!

thank you guys. my boys are wonderful and so full of love. i wouldn't change them for anything in this world but i just wish things would feel better for them. sensory issues are so tough on kids and on our daily lives.

i am greatful that josh is so smart and can express himself in such a mature way. it makes understanding what he's going through so much easier. i can only hope my little guy follows in his footsteps and becomes as happy as his big brother is.
