fibroadenoma
i was just diagnosed with fibroadenoma. i've decided that i want to go ahead and have it removed. after reading conflicting reports about chances of it turning into something i've decided this is the best option for me. wanted to know if anyone else has had this surgery? i also read about cryoablation treatment, where they freeze the tumor internally & its absobed into the body. has anyone heard of this treatment for them?

Re: fibroadenoma
I had a fibradenoma removed when I was about 21...it was fine, the surgery was a breeze and the pain afterwards was VERY manageable
I DID have to go to a plastic surgeon for him to fix my scar as it was lumpy and raised up (due to the way my surgeon stitched it) but that was no big deal and strictly for cosmetic reasons

Re: fibroadenoma
I have one and did not have it removed. It doesnt normally bother me in everyday life so I just left it. I keep on going back and forth over if I should or shouldnt have it removed though. It was biopsied and was benign.
Sorry I dont have any answers for you, but just wanted to wish you good luck!

Re: fibroadenoma
I had surgery to remove one when I was 18. The surgery itself was fine and recovery was smooth. My only issue was the anesthesia. A year later, I found another fibroadenoma and after consulting a few surgeons, we opted to keep a watch on it. I've had the second one for about 12 or 13 years and it hasn't caused a problem. If it increases in size, then I'm going to have it removed again.
