Really bad cramps after chemical preg, no AF. What gives?

I went to the Dr on Saturday & was told I most likely had a chemical pregnancy (early, 5 weeks). I was bleeding for 2 days like a regular period but only the cramps were REAAAALLLY bad. And my back hurt so bad that I actually was crying. That's never happened before. The bleeding stopped, but I still have cramps like crazy! It's like AF on steroids. Anyone have any idea why I would still have cramps without bleeding? TIA.

ETA: I do have some cysts on my ovaries, but they're small enough so they don't need to be removed. I had one rupture over the summer. This pain is nowhere near as excruciating as that was, but do you think it has something to do with it? I go for a sono on Wednesday.

Oh my goodness...I have no idea....why this is happeneing.. best bet is to go to doctor right away!
I have ovarian cysts too and sometimes when they were breaking down I felt them as if they were cramps.

Sorry you are having such pain.

I know your body does weird things after a Chemical pregnancy/miscarriage. They do say you can have more cramping and your cycles can be thrown off a little.

Ive never had a chemical but I can tell you that my first AF after my first d&c was painful. I had insanely bad cramps. I think its normal but Id call your doctor if it gets unbearable

I am sorry for your loss. I would call your doctor. Get your levels tested and make sure they are at zero or below 5. If not get a sonogram to make sure all the tissue has been removed naturally. I hope the cramps stop soon and every thing works out.

I agree...I would ask the doctor and maybe get a sono...when I miscarried, some tissue just wouldn't leave and I would bleed and stop, then cramp bleed and stop...it just wouldn't go! It's worth a call to the doctor.
