UGH!!!!!

There was a situation that I witnessed the other day in the hallway after school let out. It could have been dangerous as there was a lighter involved - a boy flicked the lighter in his girlfriend's face. I took the lighter away, went to the AP and explained what happened. He had a meeting with the student and his mother the next day. The student received 3 days out of school suspension (after fessing up to what happened).

I got an e-mail just now from this parent wanting to "question the complaining witness" as to what happened. She said that she heard her son's version, her son's girlfriend's version, the AP's version and now she wants to hear my side before she files a written appeal to the superintendent because she's not happy with the punishment.

What more can she question me with?

I would not email her back and speak to your admin about it. If she wants to talk to you I would do it with another person present. You never know how the parent will twist it and it is a good idea to have someone else there as "witness" to what you say exactly.

I forgot to mention that the e-mail was sent to me, the AP and the Principal. I've already e-mailed my admins a W T Fluck e-mail in response to hers.

I'm just wondering why NOW, 3 days later, she's questioning the punishment when she was fine after the meeting.
