Can anyone recommend a female general practitioner in the New Hyde Park/Great Neck/Manhasset area?
My mom and my sister are looking for a new general practitioner a bit closer to work/home then the current one they are seeing. My sister would rather a female, my mom doesn't really care.
My mom has a bunch of heath issues (anemia, high blood pressure, etc) and really needs a dr. that is going to take the time to listen to her issues and not be as "by the book" in and out of the office as fast as possible.
Also, the more extended the hours the better & a dr. that can see "sick patients" pretty quickly - not wait 2-3 DAYS like the current dr. makes them(because she is "so busy") so half the time they wind up going to first med, and that's not always the best thing to do.
TIA !!!

I see Dr. Stephen Rucker. He is on Marcus Ave. I've been using him for years.

I have been seeing Lisa Berger at Pro Health in NHP for several years. She is excellent but very busy. (Like a restaurant, I would prefer a doctor's office filled with patients rather than an empty one.) In an emergency you would definitely be able to see someone in her office immediately but for appointments you would have to schedule some time in advance. We just moved and I really hope I can find someone as good on the east end.

I used Dr. Lydia Gorski for years. Her and her husband, Dr. John Gorski, have a large practice on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park. There are also a couple of Physician Assistants in the office so I never had a problem getting an appointment when I was sick. I have had xrays, ekg's, echocardiograms, endoscopies, etc in their office. My DH and my FIL have also used them. I move to Suffolk a couple of years ago so I haven't been to the office in a while. I am actually looking for a female GP in Suffolk... Good Luck! -Diane
