For those that vent about your spouses or kids (yes, we know you do this, *gasp*) do you want people making assumptions that you hate them, even if it's in a moment?

HAHA- I was just thinking that. I adore my daughter and my husband, but MAN! Somedays.... I want to put them both on the porch and lock them out! Everyone annoys eveyone at one point or another. Thats why someone very special invented wine! Chat Icon

Can someone also explain to me why any parent would read anything on here? I've said before I never ever go on Parenting because it just doesn't pertain to me; but if I had a specific question i'd go there. Why take something said about a situation that has nothing to do with you personally, so personally?

I haven't posted much on this board, but since you asked, I'll respond.

I read things on here for a few reasons.

Initially, while they may not apply to m now- I was childfree for 30 years. I can relate to some of what is said here.

Also, I have a friend who is CF by choice. She isn't married, but in a relationship. This is a venue for me to sort of make sure I'm sensitive to her feelings about some things.

In the same vein, we all live in the same world- CF and parents alike. I am a NYC mom who takes her stroller on the subway almost once a week. I try to be considerate to the people around me- no matter who you are, what your parenting/non-parenting status is, etc...So yes, your vent about the mom on the stroller could be about me. I look on this board to see if there are ways I could be more sensitive. Sometimes i can. Sometimes I can't.

And for the few posts I've made on this site- they have been things that I know I've done- and maybe want to "explain" another way it may have been meant. I saw someone venting about something that I have said a ton of times, but they interpreted it in a way that is so different that what I meant. It's just another perspective that maybe something interpreted as being offensive may not have been meant to be offensive and comnig from a different place.

I've said this before- I have a tremendous amount of respect for women who chose to be childless. Its a strong person who can truly asses their needs and create the life they want for themselves that varies from societal norms that married women *should* have children.

But you asked some questions, and I thought I would answer- at least from my point of view.
