Not really sure what to do?
Yay, my BF just had a baby! I just spoke with her and it seems they overmedicated her and she's groggy, nauseous, and in pain. The last thing I want to do is impose on her. Should I go see her in the hospital or wait til she gets home? I don't want her to feel like I'm not there for her, kwim?

Re: Not really sure what to do?
I always went to see my close friends and family in the hospital when they had a baby unless the family asked for NO visitors. Youcan go, pop in a for a bit...see the beautiful baby then go. i never stay more than say 15 mins because there will be tons of visitors during visiting hours and they will ahve plenty of people there

Unless she tells you not to, I'd go.

Re: Not really sure what to do?
If its a really good friend -- even just a 5 minute visit could be good.
A good friend just had a baby 2 wks ago--DH and I stopped by on our way to a wedding, and she was happy to see us. We couldn't stay and were kind of 'snuck in' right before visiting hours, but even just seeing her and her baby for 2 minutes made her happy.
If you really worry about imposing, then perhaps stop by when she gets out of the hospital and is home with the baby, and bring dinner or lunch by.

Re: Not really sure what to do?
visit her in the hospital...she'll have time to talk to you. By the time you get home, you are tired and have to take care of a new baby by yourself.

Re: Not really sure what to do?
I would definitely at least pop in, unless they said no visitors. Just to show your love and support. :)

Re: Not really sure what to do?
Crashing because you are one of my faves, Diva.
I was in the hospital for 4 nights. First night, I didn't get into a room until around 9pm, so no visitors were allowed. I was completely overwhelmed the second night, because my whole family and some of DH's family and a few friends came. so I told some other friends not to come. Third night only one visitor, no one but DH on night 4.
I would wait until after the first day, then call and see if she is up to it. I would have liked some company the last 2 nights, but then felt stupid telling people I told not to come that it was now OK to come, KWIM?
