Carribbean Vacation
So we are currently trying to figure out how we want to spend our lovely federal tax refund. We have been to Jamaica, Riviera Maya (Mexico), and Bahamas. We loved Jamaica (although we didn't like how you couldn't go off the resort).
Here are the options we drafted so far:
1. Puerto Rico 2. Bermuda 3. Aruba (seems kinda expensive though) 4. Punta Cana (although we think it will be same issue as Jamaica) 5. St Thomaas 6. St Marteen
Anyone ever been to any of these islands? If so, opinions?

Re: Carribbean Vacation
I have been to Puerto Rico and I loved it! I stayed in San Juan. The only issue is - it is not all-inclusive and it is just like the US but nicer water!! When we would take walks - there were best buys and Subway - that part I did like, but also to me it didn't really remind me of a tropical island. HTH

Re: Carribbean Vacation
Aruba would be my top suggestion. It can be expensive but if you plan it right it doesn't have to be.
St. Thomas and Bermuda will be more then Aruba.
Puerto Rico is nice, but not my favorite place at all.
Try Sandals in St. Lucia or Turks and Cacios.
Depending on the time of year you want to go you might find some good deals.

Where do you recommend staying in Aruba?
Also, we wanted sooo bad to go to St Lucia Sandals, however, because of the time of year we are going and its kinda laast minute (in June-July) the rooms are all booked and prices are jacked up due to all the honeymooners!!! Oh well!

i would recommend aruba. i stayed at the radisson, but if we go again (which hopefully we will since we got engaged down there) i would stay a little more central palm beach. maybe 5 or 6 hotels down from raddisson.

Re: Carribbean Vacation
Would you consider a cruise? That is how dh and I plan on spending our refund! We were on one for our honeymoon and LOVED it. You get to see a few different places. And there is stuff to do at each. I get bored easily so it keeps it fun.

Re: Carribbean Vacation
We loved Aruba. Went in May- Memorial day weekend 5 days, 4 nights. We stayed at the Occidental, it was all inclusive. Worth it if you drink. I think our whole trip was only $3000- for everything. We went all around the entire "happy" island, it's very safe.
We also met Jamie Foxx. It was so cool!

Re: Carribbean Vacation
We wen to Aruba for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Riu all inclusive resort and it was amazing! The food was delious the ppl were soo nice and the shopping was good to. Oh and the beaches perfect! We went in October witch is there High time and our whole trip airfair and stay for a 6night 7day cost us $4700. Now my aunt is going to the same resort in may and is spending $2600. I dont think thats a bad price at all for all inclusive in aruba.
By the way Aruba is very expensive this is why we choice to do all inclusive otherwise we would of been brooke by the end! lol :)
