Re: A very very long birth story Evan Michael
Congratulations! And also, lots of hugs
I'm so sorry you were not able to have the natural birth you had hoped for. I'm also incredibly impressed that you went through that much back labor without an epidural - you're my new hero. You must have a serious pain threshold. I barely lasted an hour before I wanted to die - that was by far the worst part of my labor (my DD was also sunny side up).

Aww Katie! I just saw that you posted this.
I'm so sorry that you weren't able to have the birth you envisioned! I know we talked a lot about it and it really stinks that things didn't go as planned.
Congrats on your little cutie Evan! I hope we can be in NY at the same time so we can have a playdate!

Re: A very very long birth story Evan Michael
I'm sorry you did not get the natural delivery that you had wanted. I also am hoping/preparing to have a drug-free vaginal birth, and am so scared of having to get a c-section and be cheated out of the experience.
That being said, congratulations on the birth of your healthy, beautiful little boy. Love the name Evan, but then again I am a little biased-that is my DH's name
Thank you for sharing your birth story and congrats again!!

Re: A very very long birth story Evan Michael
Thank you for sharing your story.
I did not have the courage to.
I too prepared for a drug-free birth and ended up with a c-section.
When you wrote how you felt your body failed you.... I kid you not, that is EXACTLY what I told DH when my dr. told me I needed a c-section. I felt defeated.
And when my DD was born, I felt like she was not mine. I didn't feel that gush of love that women speak about for a few weeks.
Why am I telling you this? Because it does get better. It took me a full 6 weeks but I FINALLY got over my birth and realized that the most important thing is that my DD was born healthy.
Enjoy every moment with Evan. Time flies so quickly!
