interview follow up? where when how?

so dh interviewed for a job the other day (phone interview) and sent the guy he interviewed with and the woman who set it up thank yous. then he had to write some sample coding for them (web development job) and felt really confident with it and sent it to them over the weekend. his site got a bunch of hits on monday (they were looking at his test and the rest of the site for a long time) and he sent the guy who will be reviewing the test and the woman who set it up thank yous (same people as before). the woman writes back at the end of the day yesterday asking "if you got hired how much notice will you have to give and/or how long will it take you to relocate?" to which he replied that he can get up there quickly as he doesn't need to give notice (works on his own schedule as a freelancer) and he's been researching the area so already has somewhat of an idea of where to go. then he asked "what time frame would be best for [your company]"

they didn't reply today and he's getting antsy (me too!) i know it hasn't been long, but when should he follow up again? i know they typically say a week, but as i said i'm impatient. i don't want him to come off as desperate either though, right?

on the bright side, they sound interested, right? i don't think they were planning on having someone relocate for this position (or weren't expecting it at least) but they know we're in atlanta now and the job's in minneapolis and they've been actively pursuing him. still makes me nervous though - i'm afraid the distance puts dh at a disadvantage...
