Hi I'm new here :(

Hello,

I think I will be officially joining this board soon. I am a regular poster on the boards but just created this account so I could get this off my chest. I just went to my first dr appointment and sono and after the sono the doctor told me that "sometimes these things just dont work out". He didnt use the MC word but that is what I am preparing for. We didnt see a heartbeat. :( I have to go back in 3.5 weeks to see if anything changes. Doesnt that seem like a really long time???? I cant help but think "why me" but I know this is a really common thing. Any words of advice?? Thanks for listening.

How far along were you at that appt??

And waiting another 3.5 weeks is really way to long, I would insist to see your DR sooner. That is a terrible long wait for you- espec after he scared you like that.
Try not to worry yet!!

Sad new is....Unfortunately, miscarriages are very common about 25%. They actually say up to 50% ( with chemicals and many women not even knowing they were ever pregnant.

The Good news is since they are so common it is most likely just bad LUCK! You will go on to have a Healthy Pregnancy!!

It's quite natural to say "why me". That's ok! It a devastating thing to go through but for now try to stay positive b/c it may be to early to know how things are going.

Many hugs!

That is way too long to wait for the next appt. How far along are you? Is it possible that its just too early to see a HB?

I'm sorry you are going through this. Please feel free to vent or ask as many questions as you want. The girls here are great. You're in my prayers. Chat Icon

I agree with the other girls, 3.5 weeks does seem like a pretty long time, even if you are early in your pregnancy. I would definitely try to get in earlier if possible so you at least know what's going on. Chat Icon

So sorry you are going through this. I agree with the others about the long wait... maybe call your Dr and see if you can get an earlier appointment? Like a week from now? Then you can begin to move forward, whatever the outcome...

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

Thanks everyone! I was almost 7 weeks since the first day of my last period when I had the sono. I am 100% positive about the date which is why the dr is so concerned. I also have no preggo symptoms but never had since I found out. No sore boobs, morning sickness, Im not tired....nothing! Also, I havent spotted either although I know that doesnt mean that everything is ok. I didnt think anything of it until this appointment. Maybe I will call to make an earlier appointment but part of me is too scared. Thanks again.

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

I"m so so sorry...My appointment was similar to yours...and I went back the follolwing week. I can't believe they don't want to see you for 3.5 weeks?? Doesn't sound right to me. Especially since he said "sometimes these things don't work out"

I would definitely question.

my story

here's my story. It sounds like ours may be similar...

But if the doctor hasn't counted you out..try to keep some hope. But I would definitely ask why he doesn't want to see you for 3.5 weeks...

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

Thank you all for sharing. Zoe - Thanks for your link! None of my friends know and I will probably never tell them so Im so glad I can write on here. The 3.5 week thing may be b/c I needed an evening appointment. I called the dr's office the day after my appointment after researching online to make sure it was ok and the receptionist put me on hold to ask the dr and he said it was ok. My DH and I decided not to call back tomorrow to try to go sooner. We are both too afraid of bad news right now. But I am a little worried about infection..... My DH told me to stay off the internet!!

Its officially over now. I started to bleed so I went in and didnt get good news. I am so upset. Is a D & C that bad? If it is please dont respond b/c I will freak! Only reply if it was honestly not that bad. I can deal with the emotional stuff for now just so afraid of the hospital. I will be completely out when they do it right? Thanks

I did not have a D&C. But most of the girls on the board did and will tell you it was very quick and minimal pain.

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

I had a D&C. The procedure is not bad at all. You have period like cramping afterwards. You will be up and about almost immediately. If you have any questions or want to chat, please FM me.

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

So glad the D & C is over! It was SO scary going to the hospital and everything so thank goodness you are completely out during the procedure. I had some bad cramps last night and on and off today but really not so bad. I also feel really tired today and sad, b/c it is really sinking in now.

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

Thanks I had it on Friday and went to work for 10 hours on Sat. Crazy I know but I had to go.... I was in pain but I got through it. I have almost no pain now so Im glad, just feeling sad now but I read that hormones can get wacky due to being PG one day and not PG the next.

Re: Hi I'm new here :(

Glad you are feeling a bit better. Having a miscarriage can be a complete roller coaster. Having so many emotions about losing the baby and then uncontrolable hormones on top of that, makes it a whirlwind. I find that it helps me to sit back and take some time to reflect and be sad. This way, I'm able to be positive about the future. It's not easy but it does get better. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
