** Just for the record ... spinoff on POSITIVE post. Plus, a VENT about a lot of things!! Uh oh!!

Just for the record, my other post was intended to be happy and positive and not related to any other posts.

We are all entitled to countdown, vent, complain, scream, shout, etc.
We are ALSO entitled to QUIT or find a new job if we are miserable.

I guess I am the loser for wanting to share the good about our jobs. I am sorry, but this forum is monopolized by complaints and negative reviews (which are, like I said, entitled to be here). I received a few private FMs about people who were thrilled to actually see somethings positive. Anyway, the positive thread wont get as much traffic as other topics such as "I hate my principal" "can you believe this student?" "teaching sucks" ... I just find it upsetting!

Whatever, I am also in a bad mood today and something rubbed me the wrong way so I am venting! I can get flamed! I dont even care! This is how I feel and thankfully I am not alone. SOmetimes I want to scream about all the BS I see on here.

Each and everyday I see miserable teachers who treat kids like crap and honestly I want to cry. I cannot believe some people do not have the heart for this! Some children are tormented and adults stoop to low levels to get them back. It is so pathetic. There is NO excuse to treat a child poorly. Maybe if teachers took the time to get to know a kid and care about them ... then we woud see a difference.

You know what? I lost my father to pancreatic cancer 30 days ago and I never come into class with a sad face, in a bad mood, etc. My kids deserve the best of me and will always get it. No matter what is going in my life. I guess I just had to let off steam on this thread lol

This is not about any ONE person specifically! This is just the tone of this forum which is totally fine. Also, it is about my own personal gripes about the teachers I see and have known throughout the years.

All I am saying is that I wish all of us would take a step back and be happy with our lives, our jobs, everything.
If teaching does not make you happy then do something that does. Life is too damn short!!

First I am so so sorry for your loss

Second I agree with a lot of what you said.

Currently I am in excess,in ATR and split bw two schools. I am in one place 3 days a week--and have more free time as you can see from my posting at this time ) I HATE it as I prefer to be busy and with kids--and have my day fly--I love being with students--however my assignment here gives me a cple free periods a day--which I have NEVER had and it bores me

Even with my crappy situation split bw 2 schools, no permanent assignment and therefore really in "limbo" with regards to the stability of my job and future

I try not to let the bureracy interfere with my love for the students and the work I do.

I also have teachers who whine and moan all day...it IS annoying honestly.

Sure I have my days, but I feel lucky to have my job--as so many teachers, coounselors etc. out there are unable to secure a position...

so while I know my current situation is not ideal I still appreciate the fact that everyday I get to do something I love...very few people in this world have that luxury

OMG....I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even see the other post, but I agree. I love my job and it thrills me that you do, too.

I'm so sorry for your loss. and I can see that your job is your safe haven, I feel that way as well.

First, I am so, so sorry for your loss.

I think you know that I agree with so much of what you've said here, and I feel the same way about our profession. I also think you must be a pretty amazing teacher. Your kids are so lucky to have you (and I get the feeling you feel the same way about them.)

I totally agree with you. I can get frustrated with administrative demands and decisions, but never with my kids, they are kids. They can take a lot of patience at times, but you're right, little things you say and do can dramatically change them, often for the worse.
