Dr. Adam Cohen award in Pediatrics

It is almost a year since my brother Adam passed away. Many of you were so wonderful during his horrific battle that I thought you would want to see how his friends and colleagues are honoring him... I had no idea this was being done. This is in no way a solicitation for money. It just makes me so happy to see that his legacy in Pediatrics will hopefully live on...

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As most of you are aware, we lost our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Adam Cohen, in April of 2009.

Adam touched many of our lives. In order to commemorate his legacy as a son, friend, colleague, and pediatrician, we are establishing an award in his honor. The Dr. Adam Cohen Pediatric Resident Award will be awarded annually to a deserving Pediatric resident from Baylor (Adam's residency training program) who embodies the values of outstanding professionalism throughout residency training. The inaugural award will be presented at the pediatric resident banquet in June 2010.
Our goal is to establish an award that celebrates Dr. Adam Cohen in name, as well as in the warmth and professionalism that he always demonstrated as a pediatrician. Generations of trainees at Baylor will be able to understand these important attributes that Adam possessed.
In order to achieve this goal, we are asking for the financial support of Adam's friends and colleagues.
This support will go towards the yearly monetary award that will be granted, as well as any necessary expenses to maintain the award’s legacy. Any donation that you can offer would help us establish a fund that will allow the Dr. Adam Cohen Award to live on for years to come. Wow, that's really amazing!! It's clear that your brother had a profound impact on those who knew him and this is such a nice way to honor him; you must be so proud.
