The Hunger Games trilogy
Just read the first two books this weekend and I loved them! Has anyone else read them? Am I the only one who can't wait for the final book to come out in August?
What is your take on Peeta vs. Gale? I can't make up my mind, but I think that while she loves them both, I feel like at the end of Catching Fire you could tell she was actually in love with Peeta.
Who do you think Katniss will wind up with - Peeta, Gale, or neither?

I'm really hoping she winds up with Gale, but I'm worried the author is going to have to kill one of the two boys off in order for her to choose.

Ugh - I really hope that she doesn't do that! Then Katniss would only wind up with one of them by default!
When I was reading The Hunger Games, I first thought she should be with Gale, she has a natural ease with him, always trusted him, etc., but I feel like if Katniss was truly in love with Gale she would have realized that a long time ago. I think that in Catching Fire Katniss realized that she felt something very deep for Peeta, something that she had never felt before, and I think that she's going to realize that it's love!
So excited for Mockingjay!!!

I'm on Team Peeta to but I think it's because I "know" him better and his feelings for Katniss.
I can't believe the next book is coming out in August - I thought it was sooner than that.

ITA. I've been on his team ever since Peeta's televised interview before the Games started in the first book.

TEAM PEETA!
I can't wait for Mockingjay. I think what's going to happen is that Peeta won't be around for most of the book, so she'll be with Gale, and hopefully he'll get on her nerves and FINALLY realize her feeling for Peeta are real and not a result of her strategy for the games.
I can't wait to see who they cast for the roles of Peeta, Katniss, and Gale for the movie!

I am psyched to see who they choose to play these characters. Right now I kind of hope they choose some unknown actors for the main characters. I just read somewhere that they hope to have the script ready in the next few months and start filming in the Fall. If they stick to that timeline we'll find out who the actors are really soon!!

I am also on team PEETA!! I think I feel in love with him when I read the story of the bread. I knew from that moment that he loved her. With Gale, it seems more like a brotherly/sisterly love. A true best friend.
I am stoked for the 3rd book. These were 2 of my favorite reads in a long, long time.

I was at Borders today, and I asked the girl if they were going to do anything for Mockingjay when it comes out. She said they're planning a big to-do at midnight, like when the Harry books came out, so yay!!!
Also, I found this and thought it was funny:

It was the Borders in Lake Grove/Stony Brook, across from the mall. not sure if they all do the same thing!
