I know a lot of people hate the dentist, my DH included. Did you have a bad experience before?

Re: Incredible fear of the dentist...
I had an actual, diagnosed, REAL, dental PHOBIA. For years and years. It was terrible I found an amaaaaaazing dentist, (but I'm not in your area so that won't help, mine's in NYC midtown). From the 1st appt, they were SO SO awesome, kind, gentle, and understanding with me. It changed my life. And I needed about $20K worth of dental work over the course of a year so we got to be fast friends. I even had a 7hr dental surgery one day - I was awake but drugged - they gave me a pill to take before I left the house (with an escort), and I was so loopy by the time I got there I could barely stand up. Around 3pm my mom came to get me home, asked how I was feeling, and apparently I said "O my god I'm so BORED." I have 0 recall of that Just sharing that so you know the "right" dentist is out there for you!!!! Mine didn't even use shots for novocaine, they use this "Magic Wand" thing that numbs you without injections. Seriously, awesome.

Re: Incredible fear of the dentist...
I am terrified of the dentist! Its gotten worse in the past year as I had a bad experience getting my wisdom teeth out last year. I have to take xanex to go now. I haven't been able to find one that I like here in VA. I loved my dentist in NY.
