So I went to my doctor
And I dont really know why I went but I just had a feeling something was wrong and my doc told me that OBSESSING with getting pregnant will NOT GET you pregnant. I told him I was worried I still had the cysts (I had cysts during the pg) I was worried I wasnt ovulating.....etc etc...Told him I was temping.....using OPK's....
He told me to STOP all of it and the body can sense stress and that you cannot get pg when ur body is too stressed..why would your body have you get pg and put a pg in a stressball.
What a frustrating answer!!!..how the heck do i program myself to not stress out!
So I was thinking about not temping anymore - He also told me that OPK arent the most accurate and to just BD when its the right time....
Im going to take his advice....thats my new plan! Relax...let is just happen stop all testing!

Re: So I went to my doctor
I agree with your doctor for the most part because I've read that stress can actually prolong the time of ovulation. Try to relax and enjoy this time with your DH, as hard as it is, and hopefully your time will come even sooner because of it! Try and change the stress into happiness, its gorgeous outside, you love your DH, and you WILL make a baby!
I do want to make sure though that he checked to make sure everything was ok, since you said you had cysts? I'm not very familiar with them, as I only had one, and it was to small to be harmful, supposedly.
I pray your time is soon, and I look forward to hearing some good news soon!!

Re: So I went to my doctor
Nothing used to pi$$ me off more than people telling me if I stopped stressing, it would happen. I've gotten pregnant 5 times stressing over using OPKs, temping etc. and I'm quite sure the 3 MCs had nothing to do with that stress. The cycle when I started seeing an RE (which in some people's eyes, you cant get more obsessed with it than that) was the cycle that stuck. For me, doing nothing in terms of monitoring ovulation would have stressed me out much more than feeling like I was being proactive, KWIM?
Do what feels right to YOU and IMO, find a doctor willing to explore medical causes with you instead of writing you off as being obsessive & stressed out

I agree here. It sounds great to say just relax but when it's your body its very hard to do so. I can agree to an extent but its your body so you have to do what's right for you. If you are worried, or feel somethng is off they should respect that, and not just say relax. I agree with the above poster that I have tried it all ways, and no matter what I found testing to ease my mind a bit. At least I knew I was doing as much as I could...hang in there!

Re: So I went to my doctor
DH keeps telling me to relax and that b/c I'm so stressed that's why I'm not pg. Maybe true, maybe not. I always think about the ppl who get pg who weren't trying...some probably more stressed then us and some with other negative factors. I'm sure it plays a role but it's not everything.
You have to do what makes you feel comfortable. You can try and "relax' and see what happens but if you feel some thing else is going on, explore it. If your doctor doesn't take you seriously than maybe try someone else?

Re: So I went to my doctor
I did a blog post about it...no matter if it's true or not, NOBODY wants to hear the words relax. It's just not right. When you tell someone to relax they just get more upset...at least I do. It makes you feel bad, like your feelings aren't warrented...no good.
PSA: never say relax

Re: So I went to my doctor
oh god stress soooooooooo messing up your body. My ovulation timing was F'ed up big time, I strongly urge you to take your doctors advise. Please because I drove DH nuts for almost 8 months when I finally became pregnant with autumn.
I was a POAS addict like you wouldn't believe. I would spend so much money on PT and OPT. Just relax and enjoy your fun time or play time my MIL calls it.

YES im telling you this is key! Just DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT Lol. My priest told us when we got married Just relax and let god takes the wheel...and he also said you guys are working individuals...that work many hours.....and have a lot of stress...if you look at the population in lower income neighborhoods and the birth rate they are very HIGH in low income neighborhoods those people do not have the stresses that we have and POP out babies like theres no tomorrow. Its so true!

Re: So I went to my doctor
Have you read taking charge of your fertility? It actually says that stress doesn't affect you getting pregnant. It said it can move around your ovulation dates, but if you are using OPK's you should be able to track that.
I personally think having people telling you not to stress will make you stress more. I too believe it's in God's hands, which is why I think stress is just bad for your health, not for getting pregnant.

I agree with Jen. It's hard not to stress when every other day yoru have to BD, use OPK's, POAS, etc...and the cycle continues every month. I think the only thing to kinda takes some stress of yourself is to keep yourself as distracted as possible. Plan a lot of things during the 2ww. Most of the women I know were stressed, but still got their BFP!
Goodluck!
