lunch meetings
I am writing this for DH because I am a teacher and never worked in an office. All of a sudden, his boss has decided that they will have "pizza Wednesdays" where a meeting for the day will be done during their lunch hour. They do not get a break during the days. Also, if a meeting with a client is to occur, it should occur during their lunch hour. I thought that this wasn't legal. Any insight?

Re: lunch meetings
Is your DH an exempt employee? (not eligible for overtime)?

Re: lunch meetings
hmm i don't know how it impacts non-exempt employees, but i have worked in HR and have had these weekly pizza lunch meetings. but, our job had the flexibility where we could wander away from our desk for 15 minutes if we need a brain break, so not sure how it affects things from a legal standpoint. if it's only once a week i dont know that i'd make a big stink over it, but if it really is a problem i'd tell DH to contact his HR Generalist and ask the question.

Re: lunch meetings
It really depends on the kind of job your DH has. If he is exempt or non exempt.
If you FM me a short job description, I can better answer your question.
