when to call for progesterone

Hi -
I'm just asking here because I can't get alone time on the phone since Im training someone right here in my office Chat Icon

Anyway I'm supposed to call in for progesterone suppositories when I ovulate - I use the ClearBlue monitor and I just hit the 2 bar level this morning - should I call my dr? Or do I wait until I'm at peak?

TIA and does anyone have any experience with progesterone? I've done some reading and already warned DH that I could become very moody....

Re: when to call for progesterone

Hey Donna,

You call the doctor as soon as you get your peak reading on the monitor and then, you come in for a progesterone test 8 days past the surge which is usually 7 dpo. That's usually how reproductive specialists work. However, maybe they want you to be on them immediately ?

I am on the suppositories now. My first month on them, gave me some pregnancy symptoms and through me for a big tease...since they delayed my AF and I thought I was pregnant. They are a nuisance. They leak...:( so you have to wear panty liners.....but other than that, they are really not a big deal. I heard the suppositories have less side effects than the pills....because they are going straight to the issue and not traveling throughout your bloodstream first. Just what I heard, not sure if it's true. Again everyone is different.

Re: when to call for progesterone

Thanks!

Since it's almost lunch I'm just going to call when I get outside, I'll have a break from this training....

Thanks for the headsup about the experience I heard about the leaks - not looking forward to that.

My AF has always been on time, that's going to play with my head now if it's going to start getting screwy...Chat Icon

Thanks for your responses but I got it all wrong Chat Icon

I have to go for another blood test (I've had 10 vials taken from me so far Chat Icon ) one week after I ovulate I guess to check my progesterone - does that sound right?

yes you have to do in 7DPO for the progesterone test. Welcome to the science of having a baby.
