Spinoff: What other books did you read as a child/pre-teen?

Saw the thread on the new Babysitters Club prequel. I was a bookaholic as a child and teenager.

I read Babysitters Club, The Sunset series by Cherie Bennett, Lurlene McDaniel books and then started borrowing my mom's harlequin novels lol ( I was a bit mature for my age)

What books got you started?

I got introduced to Agatha Christie, reading "And Then There were None", in my 9th Grade English class. I became obesessed with Agatha Christie and have since read every single book she's every written.

I also loved the Baby Sitters Club (I've already read the prequelChat Icon ) and I loved The Saddle Club and Silver Blades as a kid.

I loved all books by Christopher Pike!
Also sweet valley twins, and saddle club were big favorites of mine.
ETA: I also read all the baby-sitters club books.
I loved the vampire diaries too, which is oddly now a TV series I don't watch at all.

Sweet valley, babysitters club, nancy drew, so many books I don't even remember all of them!

There was a series I can't remember the name it was about a group of au pairs. One was really rich, one was from Kansas and wanted to be a dancer. Off to google...

Oh I spent a happy fall in the 6th grade loving Trixie Belden! I also liked Nancy Drew.

There was a series of historical teen romances called Sunfire. Each title was a girl's name- Emily, Nora, Megan. I LOVED them. Each one was basically a love triangle (think a pg rated Titanic). I still have themChat Icon

Anything by Madeline L'Engle was on my short list. CS Lewis was another favorite of mine. I didn't really get into the Sweet Valley stuff.. although it was around.

Madeline L'Engle is STILL my favorite author. I've read all of her adult novels, too. And I read C.S. Lewis after I grew up, too. Chat Icon As a kid, though, I was OBSESSED with the BSC, Christopher Pike, Sweet Valley High, Girls of Canby Hall... you name it; I read it. (Shocking that I became an English teacher, no?
