Heads Up on a regional account manager position with Hu-Friedy
REGIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER- Manhattan/Long Island I. Summary of Position This position, as motivated by the 100% commission based compensation plan, must achieve annual sales objectives in a given geographical region. This committed salesperson must be able to achieve results through customer contacts and support activities, and develop and nurture the long-term relationships that will assure continued success and growth for the company. II. Principal Accountabilities 1. Prepare and present an annual sales plan to management, with periodic updates as requested or as necessary. The plan must identify specific actions necessary to achieve sales goals. 2. Develop special business relationships with all dealer sales representatives and military/government accounts within assigned territory. 3. Introduce and establish new products to key customers, through co-working and other regular contacts at dealer branches, schools, hospitals, and government institutions. 4. Attend and participate at conventions within the territory and throughout the country, when needed. 5. Maintain regular contact with established customer base, with emphasis on developing long-term relationships, to help achieve corporate sales goals. 6. Counsel dealer managers, military/government accounts, and/or purchasing agents on promotional opportunities, special programs, new product introductions, and all related sales information. 7. Promote sales by introducing new products to dealer representatives and military/government accounts to correspond with scheduled promotional programs. 8. Schedule, implement, and monitor promotional programs with qualified customers to enhance growth opportunities within the region. 9. Complete other duties as assigned. III. Functional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This position requires an individual with: 1. 2-5 year’s sales experience, preferably in the dental business 2. College degree, preferably in dental hygiene, health sciences, and/or business, or equivalent work experience 3. Computer literacy and/or ability to adapt to a computer-based territory database management system 4. Excellent interpersonal, communications, and planning skills 5. Dental assisting and/or dental hygiene certification is desirable 6. Ability to accommodate an overnight travel schedule approximately 25-50% depending on territory 7. Must have valid driver’s license and means of transportation to make sales calls
