how long does this take?? UPDATE

on monday last week my beta was 42. wednesday it was 46. thursday 41. i go for another and a dr. b appointment on tuesday.
i know theres still stuff going on inside, my temp is still way high and no sign of AF or cramping or anything. no spotting, still lots of clear CM...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

how long generally will it take for it to go down and for me to get AF? dr. b said it could be a few weeks, but i feel like cause my beta is low to begin with that it should be sooner. i know thats a ridiculous thought but i just want this to be over so i can move on and start trying again.

i wont know til at least tuesday why this happened (if i get an answer) or whether its blighted ovum or ectopic or whatever. i just want this to be over...

UPDATE - got AF today and my beta was down to 0 as of yesterday Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . dr. b said i have to wait a full cycle to start my next medicated cycle. i didnt realize that and was pretty bummed but im OK now. for anyone thats interested i had a pretty interesting appointment with dr. b yesterday. if anyone wants to read the update click here. (xpost from infertility).

im just now starting to deal with emotional aspects of all of this, but getting AF today definitely helped. i already feel so much more positive about moving ahead. thanks for listening everyone. i hope we all get sticky BFP's really soon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: how long does this take??

I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

My story is a little different but I started spotting very very lightly on 5/12 and I didn't start cramping/bleeding heavy until 5/19. I passed a large clot on 5/19 and my bleeding is just starting to taper off.

Everyone is diff and our bodies respond differently, do u know what ur progesterone is/was when you had ur blood test?

how far along were you?? did you know you were going to m/c before the bleeding started?? soo sorry Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

my progesterone at the first beta was 26.8 which dr. b was very happy about. i didnt get the #'s from the last two betas but he said it was still high. i can tell its still high because when its low/pre-O levels i get acne and when its higher the acne is very light. also cause i temp i know its still high, my temps are still in the triphasic range. i figure once i see it dip i can expect AF to arrive fairly shortly after.

Re: how long does this take??

I was supposed to be 9 weeks, I started brown spotting and was afraid something was wrong bc I lost the first pregnancy the same way, went for a sono and only saw a sac measuring 5w3d....basically was a blighted ovum Chat Icon

At that point my HCG was 3594 and Pro was already dropped to 9. Last week when I had my blood taken my Pro was down to 6 and I was already starting to bleed similar to AF.

Your pro is prob still a bit high that's why ur not beginning to bleed yet.

I am really so sorry you have to go through this. My prayers are with you Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I miscarried at 7 weeks. I started spotting around 6wk 4dys. They tell me I had a blighted Ovum. I bled for about 6 straight days with cramps on day 3 and day 4 that were terrible. By day 5 I felt okay. I just got my period last week EXACTLY 4 weeks from the exact day I started bleeding. I hear that is normal. I am sorry for what you are going thru. I am hear to talk if you need me. Feel better!

sooo sorry you had to go through this twice. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

i was on crinone so i know that helped me get to a high progesterone level, although dr. b did say at that first beta that crinone wouldnt artificially make the level that high - it was def my body doing it on its own. i stopped the crinone on thursday when i had the last beta, but based on my other symptoms it doesnt seem like my progesterone has dropped yet.

technically this may still qualify as a chemical since it was so early, but my beta was much higher this time around then when i had the chemical the first time (46 vs. 5).

Re: how long does this take??

Have you asked the doc about taking anything to speed it along? I had a blighted ovum, and my doc could tell that I was too upset to wait for it to pass naturally. I measured only 5 weeks of an empty sac. I took the meds to get it started. I just couldn't handle waiting for however long it took to pass on its own...at least then I was in control...

But everyone is different. that's the most frustrating part.

I know it took me about 4 weeks to get AF. But with your beta being so low, hopefully it will arrive even sooner.

I know we have spoken already but like I had told you, my betas kept going up and up and up but once I actually miscarried they dropped off significantly. A week after the miscarriage I was at zero, down from over 1200. It took weeks for me to miscarry and I did only after a shot of methetraxate to force the issue. It may take a little while for your body to miscarry but once it does your beta should go down FAST since it's already so low. Hang in there!! On the positive side, as soon as you do you're back in the game and can get start trying. You're generally pretty fertile too right after a miscarriage so you never know........you could be pregnant again in just a few weeks!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
