Endo questions..
When I posted about my gyno the other day, someone mentioned endo in one of their posts back to me. I know what it is and I have read a lot about it and I seem to have had a few of the symptoms and now I wouldnt be surprised if this is what I was finally diagnosed with. When I did get a period, back in the day, they werent extremely painful but a bit. Anyway, I was wondering first off, if the endo gets bad enough, is that a reason for your period to stop coming? My good friend had endo for years but ALWAYS got a very heavy period and right on time. Does anyone know though if this could be a reason as to why I am not menstruating??
Also, does anyone know if this can be hereditary? My mother and my aunt had it and they didnt find out until years and years later. Has anyone ever heard if this could run in the family by chance?? TIA

Re: Endo questions..
Endo does not cause your period to cease.

Check out this site...it explains reasons why someone doesn't menstruate. In my own experience, it's usually pcos, prolactin or a thyroid issue. However, I forumed mailed you several hormones to get tested.

Re: Endo questions..
Noreen, endometriosis would not prevent you from getting your period. I have irregular cycles like you do and have endo , but the two things aren't related. in my reading and reserach I"ve discovered that plenty of ladies have very regular cycles and have endo and sometimes don't even KNOW they have it!
Here are a few links that might be of help to you... they describe the disease, symptoms, and treatment. Please feel free to FM me if you have any questions about endometroisis, since I"ve been there!
