Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
Hi multiple moms!
My DH and I saw twins on TV yesterday and were wondering, if you had/are having same-sex twins and you have the two names picked out...what happens upon birth...you look at the babies and get a feel for who looks like each name or you've already assigned names to "Baby A" and "Baby B" beforehand? What if you didn't know the genders before the birth?
Just curious!

We knew the names we wanted, but did not assign it yet. After baby A was born, DH said this is Matthew.

we always knew we would name our second son after my dad since our first is named after my FIL so Baby A will be that name and Baby B is a name we choose.

My plan is 1st baby out is getting the name we always had in mind (even for our 1st child had she been a boy).
Its my Dh's name and middle name reversed.

We wondered this as well. BAsically we didnt name them till they were 2 days old. When we looked at them, we knew what they " looked" like and it was the names we originally had planned for "a and b" .

We had A and B names picked out. Thankfully they worked out perfectly and I think it would be weird if the names were reversed!

I wanted to look at them & see who was who. But, by the time I got to recovery my husband was already calling baby A Fiona & Baby B Saoirse. I was a little ticked. But, 4 1/2 years later their names are correct. LOL!

Had the names picked out before they were born. Baby A was Maeve and Baby B was Fiona. Now the problem was Baby B was actually going to be baby 1 at birth because so literally as the doctor was scrubbing in before my csection I called him over and told him that each baby had a name alreadty and I needed to know who was coming out first so their names didn't get mixed up! He wanted to kill me!

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
we finally settled on names the night before i went to the hospital baby a was always calmer, didn't kick so much, and was a little smaller so her name was given based on the meaning of that name, and baby b was given the other name

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
we had the names picked out already and knew which was baby a and baby b. decided it because baby A was more active in the womb and baby B was always sleeping.. so one was after my hubby and the other from me..
needless to say they are complete opposite now..

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
Since A and B can (and have in our case) change, we've basically decided on names for the babies based on which is on the left and right.
After we found out they were boys we were discussing names and all the sudden I felt movement on my right side. At that point I don't think I ever felt anything before so we decided he liked the name and was answering :D
As far as when we take a look at them, since they're identical, don't think that will be a problem LMAO.

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
I've always thought of twin A as having one certain name and twin B as having another name - but we'll decide when they're born. For us it had more to do with the fact that twin A has been so chill and zen in the womb and twin B has been all over the place - so we thought the names just sort of fit those personalities.

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
We had two names one was after my FIL and the other's name had my father's name as the middle name. We told my dad that the first one out would have his name as the middle name. We figured A would be out first but was not 100% positive. A wound up being out first and the names fit them perfectly I could not imagine naming then the opposite.

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
I had my boys named before they were born. I also made sure my doctor took out Baby A first and if he didn't he had to let me know. they def. fit their names now. My son Marco had dark hair and a tan complexion so his name fit him. My other son was very fair so his name Alex fits him.

Re: Random name question regarding same-sex twins from a non-twin mom!
Our first pick of a name was Baby A and our second pick was Baby B. When we got to the operating room the doctor asked me what names I had picked out and how I wanted to name them. I told him and that was it!
