My Layoff Update-LOL
Today my district rep from the UFT met with us. She said the following:
-Teachers with 1 to 2 years in Common Branch teaching will be faced with the most layoffs.
-Special education will face the least.
-Layoffs are city wide not by building---but city wide.
-Excessing means that you move from point a to point b...one school to another.
-If you are to be laid off you will hear near Friday or later.
-There is apparently a list of all of our numbers that we entered the DOE. About 4500 teachers are being laid off. If you can get the list from your principal through Principal Portal, you will be able to see how low you are.

Just an FYI for ALL of us about this- I have heard from 2 different sources that there are issues with the software that created this list. So it may not be correct. Check and double and triple check if you have even a slight doubt that you should be higher up the list.
