Kobo is released yesterday.
Today B&N drops prices, adds a cheaper model.
Today Amazon drops price.
What's next??

Very interesting! I was really not interested in getting one of these- too stuck in my ways and I'd be afraid of leaving it on the train- but if they get cheap enough maybe I will reconsider.

I returned the Nook that I bought on Sunday and ordered the wifi only ($150.00) model - it is supposed to ship tomorrow.

I just bought it, I was really hesistant but I think the price drop and the fact that I found out I had a few hundred in an old bank account just pushed me over the top!! Yay for found money!!!

I'm never that far from a wifi spot that it would be worth the extra 50 bucks for 3G connection. I'd rather have the 50 back for more books/a cover.
Home, work all have wifi. B&N, Mcdonalds, starbucks has free wifi. It comes with free wifi at any AT&T wifi spot. Plus all of the other places that have free wifi connections.
I think the probability is very low that I'd want to buy a book RIGHT NOW and there wouldn't be wifi available. I know when I'm getting close to the end of the book - so within the next 24-48 hours I'll buy another book. I'm probably within 78 wifi spots in those 48 hours that I could d/l what I wanted.
The only scenario would be if we were on a cruise and I wanted to d/l a book - but again, the chance of having 3G coverage in the middle of the ocean to d/l a book is low anyway. And again, I'll just load up a bunch of books before we go.

I got the email a few hours ago that my nook will ship today....so now I keep stalking the B&N page to see if it actually shipped!! I'm so excited to get it now.

The Philadelphia public library will let out of state applicants have a card for 15 dollars - and using that you can d'l anything from their library.
Their catalog is supposedly one of the largest ones in the US. Philly Library ebook catalog
