I've been in my current job since 1999. The job that I left to come to this one, I had been at from 1983-1990, then 1992-1999.
So for me personally, 5 jobs in 10 years is unheard of.

To clarify I am turning 25 so 10 years of jobs is since I was 15 so most of them were part time after school type jobs. After graduating college I have had 2 jobs.

10 years ago, I'd just graduated college, so I had a job in PA. I held that job for 2 years, then decided to move home to NY....
I worked at one company in my industry for 2 years, then left for a better opportunity in the same field...I was there for 2 1/2 years, when they sold the firm's NY presence, I technically worked for another company for about 2 months...that was a disaster, and my boss and I went to another "golden" opportunity....I worked there for 6 months and HATED it....I quit a week before my wedding, my boss started for our current company immediately, and I started after my honeymoon. I've been here for 4 years in October...
My industry is one though in which it's pretty common to "bounce" between companies...

I have been at my current job for 4 years and prior to that I had a job for 2 years, prior to that, 4 years so 3 jobs in 10 years.

Full time jobs, I'm on my 3rd in 6 years, but two of them are with the same facility, but different offices.
If you consider P/T jobs, I've had over 10 in 10 years, but many of those P/T jobs were held at the same time while in school or upon graduation.

I have done a lot of contract work so I have a period of 6 years where I had 4 jobs. I think if the resume says "Contract" or "temp" work, then it helps the interviewer understand why there may be several jobs in a relatively short period of time.

im 31. i started in publishing out of college at one place for almost 3 years. Then i came to my current place and will be here 6 years (as of august)

I graduated college in 2002 and worked at one place for 1 1/2 years and have been at my current job for 6.

I think industry & how far along someone is in their career factor in to deciding how many is too many.
I have been here for 12 years & I think that is too long!
I think new plac es wouldn't want to hire me, b/c I only know how to do things 1 way.

I've had 3 (including my current one)...each have lasted at least 4 years. I remember them saying in college that every 2-4 years was the life span of a job nowadays.

I have been with my current company for 9 years, so in the last 10 years the answer would be 2!
I think it really depends on the field. For example sales and administrative jobs tend to have a higher turnover rate.
