Re: Who's ready for camp?

My DS cannot wait for camp...whats not to love....fun all the time...swimming 2x day and NO HOMEWORK! His camp provides hot lunch daily.

For me its a bit more challenging, camp starts later then school which makes it difficult to get to work on time...and gets out earlier...It is very hard to be a working parent and have a child...

Re: Who's ready for camp?

The boys are ready for Camp - they love the "early Bird" program where they can play with their friends of all grades - then trips 1 time a week, sports and art, and of course swimming... I LOVE the fact that they come home messy - shows they were out having fun!

My 5YO is doing camp for the 1st time - he is so excited to be in the "big school"... but thanks for reminding me to figure out what they are doing for lunch everyday....

Now if we can just get thru the last 3 days of school!

Re: Who's ready for camp?

I wish the boys were going to camp.. they really loved it! But.. with Rob still out of work it just isn't a possibility right now. *sigh*

I can tell you they are looking forward not being in school and Rob is kind of looking forward to not bringing them to school and picking them up and doing homework!

But I guarantee all three of them will be sick of each other by July 5th!

HOPEFULLY they will be there next year!

This is DD first year at camp so she is excited but kinda nervious. I am really hoping she makes friends easily and has a great time.

I am sooo happy to not have to do homework everyday!!!

Re: Who's ready for camp?

Both my kids are doing a summer program at the local park. It's 6 weeks long, from 9-3 each day. They are super excited, I hope that excitement lasts once they start. It's a total crap shoot, since the "camp" (recreation program) doesn't run when it rains! But that's fine, we have a few rainy day activities for them. And I am not out a ton of money since the camp is only $175 for the both of them for the 6 weeks! It doesn't start until July 6th!

Re: Who's ready for camp?

I can't wait. This will be the first time in 5 years - I will have a break!!! Alex is only going 2 days, 5 weeks for 3hr/day and I can't wait. I have so much I want to try to accomplish! Kevin is going 5 days, 5 weeks, 9-2 -more than I planned but it is at the local rec and it was cheaper than most camps for less days so 5 days it is! We starting a week after the 4th week.

Alex is super excited. The other day he wished he could go to school on a wish-y thingie!!! He hasn't done any major separating for that long yet but so far he is excited and keeps asking when does he go to his camp. He has camper orientation this week. Kevin is less than thrilled but that is just him and he is a nervous nellie about change but will love it when he is there. 4 other boys from his pre-K are going - his best buds...so he will be fine.

Laughing at the big brother torturing....Kevin keeps telling Alex - in that torture/antagonistic voice - you know at camp there are no mommies there with you..... just trying to burst his brother's bubble!

Re: Who's ready for camp?

I can't wait to be able to find something like that for the kids to do. I know they are still young 3 and almost 4, but I feel like I can't entertain them 24/7.

Re: Who's ready for camp?

The kids are ready for camp but for me it's just more running around. It's not like reg camp: my 3yr old is going to soccer camp for 1hr a day for 5days at one location then my 5yr old will go to basketball for 1hr for 5days a wk same wk diff locations Chat Icon then they will just go to a reg camp for 2days a wk for 2wks together which should be nice. Then my 12yr old goes to soccer camp in August for 2wks. I'm all over the place Chat Icon
